The best hostel I have ever stayed at... Extremely clean, great bar/restaurant/patio, good location, great staff, Internet cafe... pretty much everything you could want in a hostel.

Having read all the reviews of this hostel on this website, my wife and I decided to book into the Rosa hostel. Having just finished our tour of Western Europe and staying in more than 20 cities, we rated this as one of, if not, the best hostel in our trip. It is well located, with a Metro stop just outside the building. We walked most of the time to the city centre. Took about 15mins to walk to Unter Der Linden. The staff are professional and they know what 'service' is. The rooms are spacious and new. The furniture has an Ikea feel. The bathrooms and toilets are new and the showers are more powerful than a water cannon. The interior is more a hotel rather than a hostel. If you spend most of the day sightseeing and just after a new, clean and comfortable place to sleep at night, then I would recommend this place anytime.

You showed me the best time in Berlin I could imagine. Everthing about your place is so cool, the atmosphere, the rooms and breakfast. Special thanks to Theo, who is one of the friendliest bartenders I have met and Catherine at the desk who went the extra mile to make sure we would find out way around. THE place to stay in Berlin.

I stayed in a 3 bed dorm in Sept 2003 and for 2 of the 3 nights there was only 2 of us in the room...The Hostel was spotless and roomy and lots of hot water... Staff were friendly and full of info... I was given a hostel discount card on arrival which gave discounts in local restaurants !! Hostel is in a great location too .. Internet was a little pricey though !Definately the best hostel I stayed.

This is such a wonderful place. I want to go back! The rooms are so big and it's like a hotel. Bathrooms are down the hall but they're lovely. Hot water!!! Downstairs away is large and friendly. The staff is nice and friendly. They have BIG lockers downstairs to keep your stuff in and you get your money back when you're done. The bar area has good and cheep food, with vegetarian options. Breakfast is yummy too. Not a far walk to town either. All in all stay here! I think people come to Berlin just to stay here. There were older people staying here and well and young people and families even.Excellent place to stay!

The best without doubt. All hostel owners should visit the Circus Berlin once in their lifetime to see how a hostel should be run. Nuff said.

After finishing a one month trip around Europe, looking back, Circus was one of the best hostels that I stayed at. The staff were so helpful, the rooms were spotless and very modern, and the hostel was next to a subway stop. If you complain about the breakfast, well, there is a great little bakery across the street to get your sugar levels nice and high in the morning! The hostel also offers some restaurant discounts, so that you can eat at a reasonable price nearby. The staff will also book your next hostel for free. You couldn't ask for anything more. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone.

I have been going to Berlin for years now and I always stay at the Circus; I really don't understand the basis of the complaints by the last two people. The place is simply outstanding, they don't think like a hostel but are priced like one. The staff is so ridiculously helpful one would think they have no lives but they do; the guys from the bar and reception have always recommended great clubs where i would bump into them!The only thing I don't like about the new place is that it lacks the intimacy of the old location...that old bar was so cosy. But this is really more than made up for by the location and overall outstanding condition of the new location.I have met incredible people there, the place attracts them.The walking tours really are good, I take one every time I go back because the different guides all seem to show me a different side of the city.Circus is as unique as Berlin.

this is not a backpacker! they don´t even have a kitchen or a laundry! breakfast is not included and it is 3,50. much to expensive if you have a look in the cafes nearby. the same for the drinks in the bar. alltogether it is a rip-off. next time i am in berlin i´m gonna try something else.

Yes it is clean and the staff are reasonably friendly, however maybe I missed something but this hostel is really not that great. the cheapest dorms appear to be often booked out, the other rooms are quite expensive and breakfast is not included. In my room, which faced out on to a noisy road there was no wash basin and tiny curtains which let in loads of light from the street. I stayed in the Rosa Luxemburg Platz, hostel which admittedly is the smaller of the two but apart from the busy road the place was virtually dead. Stay here if you're desperate but a lot of other places in Berlin offer far better value.
