The 14 bed dorm was only 9 a night. They have free breakfast and a great dinner for only 4. The bar is awesome with good drink prices (2.50 for a pint). There are huge common areas, tv, and music playing most of the time.

The beds are new and clean, although the rooms kinda have a institutional feel. I think it used to be a hospital or something along those lines. The bathrooms are clean, but there are only two per floor. But, having over 850 beds, it is kinda expected.

It's in East Berlin, so the neighborhood is pretty void of food places, shopping, and entertainment. It is only a few S-bahn stops to the main line through Berlin and there actually are a few nice clubs 2 stops up.

Tons of people to meet, a bar with cheap drinks, good food, and clean rooms. Definitely a good place to stay in Berlin.

The Generator is by far the best hostel I have stayed in. Its quite large so perhaps a little clinical and without the personal touch of some of the smaller places, but it certainly makes up for it in other areas. In saying that the staff were friendly and very helpful, just don't expect to sit around drinking coffee with them.

The rooms are spotless....In fact the whole place is spotless. Its obviously only been open a short while, so everything...and i mean everything is brand new. The showers were great, the beds comfortable, they even provide clean sheets, towels and breakfast.

Theres an S line (sort like the underground but not quite) stop about 50 metres away so its even pretty easy to get to.

This is hotel quality and i would highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Berlin
