I chose this hostel because it advertised a kitchen and it was the smallest kitchen I've seen. I'd really been looking forward to doing my own cooking but there's barely room to stand and boil some pasta.

Otherwise the place is pretty average, nothing great but not bad. I like that they don't have bunk beds. The common room is comfortable but very smokey.

I've been here for a few nights now and have had a really good time. The beds are nice, it's close to the station and the staff are among the best I've seen at any hostel. They called around to Amsterdam hostels for me even when I insisted that I could do It myself.

As for the comment the last two folks made regarding no place to meet people, I'm not sure that they stayed at this hostel, really. I stayed one night at the other location and there it was hard to meet people but not at the one right next to the station. I've had good talks with people every night I've been here.

In addition to there things the hostel also sells cheap beer and coffee. The internet is so cheap it's practically free. To top it off the place is even decorated well with extras like big plants in the room. I really like this hostel. The only downside since I've been here is varying qualities of music but maybe that's just my taste. Of about 30-40 hostels I've stayed in this place is probably about number 5 or 6)

this hostel is close to the train station, and the cathedral, and downtown cologne. the people who work here are pretty friendly, but there wasn't a good place to meet other people. the rooms were clean (no bunkbeds!) and the bathrooms were clean, but the showerheads didn't work so well. sometimes the water would only come out in little spurts. it was a good place to sleep and relax while in cologne.

The best qualities of the hostel is that it is very closed to the train station, in the very centre of the city, and it is open 24 hours a day. It is clean (the bathrooms are clean, too) and quite comfortable. It is nothing special; I mean: it is not very big and there are few possibilities to meet people.

Anyway, it is a good place to stay if you want to visit Cologne.
