This place excellent, we had a great time, everyone was friendly except the staff. We went out, had a good time and it had everything you needed to relax and then re-enter the real world of travelling. This place does not pretend to be cultural, however we rented a car for dead cheap and saw the rest of Corfu, which is a beautiful island. Yes, they did try to sell stuff to us and it was money orientated but aslong as you are not stupid, just say no!! The only problem is that you are trapped on that part of the island so when it comes to leaving it is pretty hard. The staff claim to be able to help you with all enquiries, but they are clueless, rude and unhelpful. We did not meet a single person who had a good word to say about the staff, and we met quite a few people! Even when my friend needed to go to hospital they were unhelpful and left us to our own devices. Thanks! The nightclub was excellent, funky music and we danced all night. the food was included in the price and was pretty good and there was plenty of it, including salad which I hadn't eaten any of for weeks. Finally, the location was beautiful.

The Pink Palace maybe is one of the most discussed hostels. I try to give my view. First of all I have to say, that I stayed there in late september, so NOT main season. There were only 40 instead of 1200 visitors - Seeing this number you can conclude that the PP is very huge. Positive: The rooms and bathrooms (i did A-class, which was 2 euro more per night) are clean and good. Nothing to complain here. In general, the PP offers a massive amount of activities from scooter/car-rental to watersports. For example, you might get drunk quite easily, when you join a "Booze Cruise" (i didnt). BUT!!!!: The PP is very expensive!! Even if 26 euros per night including breakfast and dinner might sound nice, the staff tries to get your money all day! All activities, alcoholic drinks, icecreams and snacks are expensive and cant be paid by the ordinary backpacker. Spending 50 euros extra a day is very easy in the main season, I guess. I would strongly agree, that the PP is overcommercialized! Beach: The PP has its private beach, but its rather poor. The public one is better.Food: Basicly you can stay alive, but they try to keep it as cheap as possible, thus its not the best (dinner was better than breakfast).Staff: You will only find native speakers in the PP, as there are many young people from an english speaking country doing a summer job there. The atmosphere was not too good.Low season: The PP is no choice in low season, because prices stay high, but there are no parties and no people.SUMMARY: The PP is a very good place for those people, who want to party hard, get drunk and get entertained. If you want that, you can also go to All-inclusive holiday to Ibiza, Mallorca, Rhodos or whatsoever, theres no difference. For real backpackers, the PP is overcommercialized and gives nothing but mass tourism to those, who want to get to know a different culture - thus, not a good choice. In low season, its not a good choice at all.I tried to discribe the PP as neutral as I can.I guess it strongly depends on you if you like this place or not.

I stayed at the Pink Palace for 6 days at end of June.It is a good place to have a party - the staff are great and make you feel very welcome.I was probably one of the few people there in my 30's so definitely felt my age - was like being back at uni gain !I'd say the average age is about 21. Nevertheless I did have a great time and met heaps of people !Would probably say the best amount of time to spend there is about 3 or 4 days. Definitely go on the booze cruise and the toga party great fun. On the booze cruise you get to jump off 30/40/50 feet cliffs (clothing is optional). As you'd expect it was unfortunately all the guys that got their kit off !I would definitely agree with earlier comments about the place being over commercialised. Buses into Corfu Town from the PP are infrequent ! One early in the morning, the next late afternoon and the last one at 8:45 at night. There aren't that may taxis around and it is expensive to get into town (about 17 Euros!).I am sure the PP deliberately organises dinner from 8:30 to 9:30 so that you miss the last bus into town and spend money at the Paladium ! We tried to scoff dinner at 8:30 one night and get the last bus for 8:45 but just missed it ! Also don't believe any of the staff if they say there isn't an ATM in the village - there is ! They probably do it so that they get money from your credit card/travellers cheques ! They say no commission but you're probably getting a bad exchange rate !A particularly nasty incident happened one night with the American guy I was sharing a room with and the owner's(Georgio) brother.....On the booze cruise during the day a big group of us organised to go to a big strip of nightclubs just outside of Corfu Town. My roommate ordered about 5 taxis to go into Town later on in the night. The owner's brother on seeing this headbutted him, kneed him in the balls and told him to check out the next day ! That was toga night - so he got to miss the toga night. They were probably pissed off for losing a big amount of custom.I would recommend going to the big strip of nightclubs next to Corfu Town. I'd imagine it is heaving there in July, August. Obviously more expensive than the PP but good if you want a bit of a change from the PP and a bit more stylish and you'll meet more locals. The Palace is a bit overhyped - like apparently mentioned on David Leiderman show that it was voted number one in "if you can't get a lay here then you can't get one anywhere".Not quite sure about that guys.....I've definitely seen better.Just take it for what it is and you'll have a good time

The Pink Palace is fun maybe if you're 19. If you're a true backpacker looking for a real party place, go elsewhere. The place is overcommercialized and the staff is sneaky and don't know what the hell they're doing for the most part. They will do anything to squeeze more money out of you. I met a few cool people, but for the most part, it's one big cheap frat party. If you must stay, don't stay for more than 2 or three nights. Tackiest place in Europe.

Wow, I had such a great time at this fun place!!! I went there in September 2000. From the moment you arrive it is nothing but a big party. We stayed in a Category B room which, for the price, was not too great though. We had gotten better accommodation on the island for a lower price before. Plus these rooms get very, very hot. However, they are closest to the beach and not too far from the Palladium. I really loved the atmosphere at the PP, you meet people from all over the world. Ok, I wouldn't want to stay there longer than 5 days, but you just can't miss the party!!! And by the way, I thought the beach was really pretty. Rocky, but crystal clear water!Go there, it's an insane orgy, but it's fun!!!!

Let's get something straight here. The Pink Palace understands that backpacking is hard work. If you fly over from North America, you're probably landing in London, Paris, Amsterdam, etc. By the time you get to Corfu you're tired, have had enough of foreign currency and foreign languages, and just want to relax and hang out with people like you. The Palace does not pretend to be anything other than a place for you to crash for as long as it suits you, and where you can party as hard as you want for as long as you want. You will meet great people, lose your inhibitions and certainly find some companionship of the opposite sex, if you're looking for it. Anyone who writes a negative review shouldn't have been there in the first place, and quite frankly are probably pretty 'up themselves'. If you can't say you had a great time at the Palace, then you can't have a great time anywhere. Arrive in the right headspace and leave with a lifetime of memories - I did

Anyone who doesnt like this place has some sort of problem, whether social or personal. Travelling can be rough work, so when I arrived in Corfu and unknowingly arrived at the PP, I was ecstatic. The staff are all wonderful and it is a party as soon as you get there with the free shots of ouzo. Everything is taken care of for you..all you have to do is want to meet people and have a good time. For what you pay, it is a great value. Although it can get expensive in the palladium if you drink mixed drinks....stick with ouzo, you will get used to it! While there, you MUST rent a car and see the island. There are many pretty beaches and the Corfu town is fun to explore. And as far as the statement below about the male staff being "shifty"...its nothing like he said. I found the staff to one of the coolest of any hostel I stayed at. Maybe that guy was just jealous cause he couldnt get laid at a place where love and sex are literally everywhere!

my friends and i stayed here in june of 2002 and we enjoyed it. we did participate in the party atmosphere, but it is difficult to resist with a happy hour after dinner from 10:00 to 11:30, with cocktails or shots at about 1.50 Euros. a shot of ouzo gets as cheap at 75 cents. the ouzo circle is greta - you get free shots, two sometimes if youre lucky, buy you also get a plate smashed on your head. the rooms were the nicest of any place we stayed - they locked, they were clean, you have a balcony, its airconditioned, youre really spoilt! beware though, it is quite a hike up and down the hill from the beach to the rooms, but totaly worth it. the water is blue, and although the beach is a bit rocky, its a nice cool escape from the hot sun. some of my friends went on the booze cruise and di 70 foot cliff jumping which they enjoyed. i went kayaking and snorkelling - and the scary bat cave is definitely worth a visit, although the smell is not so nice. breakfast and dinner are both worht the money as theyre included. be sure to visit the town to get some culture though. my friends and i enjoyed pink palace, we did not get too carried away but enjoyed it for all it was worth. the pink palace is definitely worht a visit.
