in sept and oct of 2002 I travelled all over eastern europe and down into italy. out of the many hostels I stayed at this is the by far the best one of all. the vibe of the whole place is just "right" . . . i made many friends and turned a planned 3 night stay into 7 nights. At the time 2 brazillian girls were permanent staff with Jenny supervising . . . my last night there was a huge toga party just like in animal house. This hostel rocks.

Really good place to stay, the guys were helpful. No lockout, we also left at 10:00 at night, but were allowed to keep our bags there the whole day. Rooms were clean, kitchen was well equipped, right near the centre of Napoli and not too far from the metro, also met some really great people! Definitely a place to recommend.

As a woman travelling alone in Italy this was by far the best hostel experience I had. Jenny the owner was more than helpful and Dane and Noel were kind and funny and went out of their way to give advice and directions. I spent one day just hanging out and watching movies, bliss after travelling for a while. I took in Pompeii, Capri and Sorento all really close and easy to get to.The kitchen is the best one I've seen anywhere, fully equipt with every utensil you could think of. Breakfast is warm pastries delivered fresh from the cafe and as much tea and coffee as you can drink. Check out is a very civilized 10.30 and if you are taking a late train you can leave your bags in the common room for the day.I was a bit scared to come to Naples on my own but I would recommend it to anyone. It has been my favoriteItalian city and definately my favorite hostel.

What a gem! Hard to find, esspecially in scorching summer heat but well worth it. No sign, either, so look for the also hard to find building number. Then there are 100 stairs to the top so needless to say we were a little peed off by the time we got there. All changed within seconds, welcoming, smiley face by the name of Dane, ushered us straight into the kitchen for some cold water and a 'Good on ya, mate, you made it'. Spacious, clean dorm rooms, white, white sheets and even a balcony from the room. Photo copied, very detailed maps to show you how to get around this mad city. No lock-out, after weeks on the road a few sleep ins were just the thing. No curfew but the hostel shuts down at midnight and no drinking after 10pm, which is a bit lame, just when you're getting into it but if you leave a deposit you can take a key to go rampage with the locals. Few stories there, Neopolitans are a hoot!We came home a bit roudy one night, though, and were quickly told to shut it and get to bed. Sorry Dane.Met some great people and have not one complaint about the hostel, clockwork, we had a ball.

Run by the nicest Australian woman, Jenny. We had some trouble with money transfers and she went out of her way to contact the recieving bank, even as far as accompanying us to the bank itself to translate for us, we offered her our first born but she would'nt hear of it. The hostel is immaculate, huge especially compared to the other Euro hostels we've stayed in. Enormous kitchen to cook and hang out in. No curfew, although no alcohol consumption after 10pm (the neighbours have rights too, I guess) but you can take a key and go hang out in the piazza with the locals. We loved Naples, everyone hangs out and drinks and chats (and smokes a lot of hash, it is thick in the air) in the local piazzas. We never felt at all unsafe, in fact after Rome it was a breath of fresh - well, a bit polluted- air. The staff will show you all the good eats, Pizza is soooo cheap and good. The fresh food market is just around the corner from the hostel where you can buy the tastiest produce, much cheaper than other Italian cities as well. Just fantastic, we are planning to book the private room for our next trip and just hang out in Naples for the whole holiday, there is sooo much to see we could'nt fit it all in this time. Arrivaderci Napoli and 6 small fantastic rooms.

We found this place the best so far in Italy, and we've stayed in a lot. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We covered all of Naples, Capri and Pompeii. Getting home every night to the fantastic kitchen and sipping wine and chatting to everyone was a complete tonic after a hard day sight seeing. Naples is wonderful, mad but truely Italian and the hostel is in a safe quiet street close to everything. Bit hard to find, we gave up and called for directions, then it was easy. Thanks guys, had a ball!

I stayed 6 nights at 6 smallies, it is spotlessly clean, in a great location and very friendly and welcoming. Don't know about partying, I had quiet nights mostly, the hostel shuts down at midnight but you can take a key if you like to go out. Breakfast was delicious and the no lock-out was heaven. Close to Pompeii, Capri and Amalfi coast, I would strongly reccommend a stay. And Naples itself is gorgeous.

Despite this hostel's more central location, away from the central train station, it was a disappointing, frustrating and aggravating one night stay. People who run this not-so-tidy hostel and many of its guests are partiers- not a bad aspect to a hostel, but extremely difficult to handle when there is a party of 20+, loud music, and especially when the walls are paper thin. The party died down around 2:30 am. They showed the utmost disrespect to all those who wanted to rest up after 10 hour days of walking and sightseeing. It was a bad experience, one of the worst within all my years of traveling, and I strongly recommend to stay away from this hostel.

Clean tidy and really friendly staff. On a quiet side street, but still very central. Lots of good advice, and the communal kitchen tends to be a good place to meet people. This was the most social hostel I stayed in in Italy. The cheap beer seller around the corner is a 'must' to visit.

The staff is very friendly and the kitchen is a great place to meet and chat with other travellers. Only thing is that they do not take bookings for the dorm beds until the day itself.
