Stayed here for two nights. It's centrally located not too far from Central Station, Damrak St., and everywhere you want to go. Unlike some other hostels where you have 2-3 bunk beds in each room, here you have about 20-25. They have two Large rooms, co-ed, hot showers. Not bad for the price of 20 Euros/nt. Only down side to it is the lockout from 1-5pm and the curfew. Either than that, it's alright.

Yeah, I've just came in after been kicked out of full hostels. The reception is quite good, but they're closed a long time for cleaning (1 to 5 pm), the showers are warm, but at low pressure, the cleaness is reviewable in. There is no way of leaving your baggages in while waiting for example for a train... That's definitely not a real "backpacker's resort", even if they offer a free internet access.

I stayed 3 nights at Anna in the spring of 1999. We had stayed at Bob's (rat hole) Youth Hostel the night before and were really impressed at how cozy and homey Anna was.The woman that ran the place was fabulous. She was extremely helpful, and told us about lots of places in Amsterdam that were worth a visit as well as other places in Europe. The man who worked nights was a wee bit unsocial, but by no means rude. All in all we had a wonderful stay. I plan to go back next year and plan to stay with my husband in one of the upstairs apartments that Anna offers.

This Hostel was a nice clean place to stay. The other people staying there were great, and the bathrooms are large and the water is hot. The people running the place, however, need to learn how to treat foreigners a little better. It seemed that they favored some, and disliked others, for no apparent reason. The front desk person rarely had anything nice to say, and I was poorly treated by all the staff, except for one, for my entire 10 day stay there. I was definitely not giving them reason to, keeping my possessions neat and not being loud or obnoxious at all. I would definitely recommend another hostel if you can find one. Unless, of course, you like being treated like you owe them for their services.
