Stayed here for two nights. It's centrally located not too far from Central Station, Damrak St., and everywhere you want to go. Unlike some other hostels where you have 2-3 bunk beds in each room, here you have about 20-25. They have two Large rooms, co-ed, hot showers. Not bad for the price of 20 Euros/nt. Only down side to it is the lockout from 1-5pm and the curfew. Either than that, it's alright.

Yeah, I've just came in after been kicked out of full hostels. The reception is quite good, but they're closed a long time for cleaning (1 to 5 pm), the showers are warm, but at low pressure, the cleaness is reviewable in. There is no way of leaving your baggages in while waiting for example for a train... That's definitely not a real "backpacker's resort", even if they offer a free internet access.

Me and my friends stayed in this hostel overnight and literally got the creeps. I mean, it was OK, there were hot showers and toilets (the general area of them was separated from the reception by curtains only) and heating and it was clean but a bit on the trippy side. Weirdly decorated.

Also, the people there. Some of them seemed real nice but the night guy is definitely a bit rude and won't even seem enthusiastic if you pay him! The lady is quite sweet though.

Also, the curfew is a bit of a nuisance. The 18 bed dorm isn't as bad as it sounds because it's oddly arranged and doesn't feel very impersonal. Still, maybe that's not the ideal place to spend your holidays in. Also no "smoking" allowed in the place!

anna yh was probably the worst i've ever been in (out of 8 in west europe) . my friend and i paid 20 euros each to sleep in a very large room with about 18-20 other people.

the beds sucked, there was no common room, no kitchen, the showers and toilets weren't very nice either, best of all theres no refund. there is a small locker at the front desk where you can leave your small valuables

i'd only recommend staying here if your only other option is sleeping in a ditch.

We stayed three nights in this hostel, it's got a great location ten mins from Centraal Station and Dam Square. The lady who ran the place was lovely and welcoming, and the rooms / showers were spotless and decorated in a chilled-out fashion essential for a visit to Amsterdam.

The only drawback is they lock you out between one anbd five to clean the place! Not good in the rain!

I stayed 3 nights at Anna in the spring of 1999. We had stayed at Bob's (rat hole) Youth Hostel the night before and were really impressed at how cozy and homey Anna was.The woman that ran the place was fabulous. She was extremely helpful, and told us about lots of places in Amsterdam that were worth a visit as well as other places in Europe. The man who worked nights was a wee bit unsocial, but by no means rude. All in all we had a wonderful stay. I plan to go back next year and plan to stay with my husband in one of the upstairs apartments that Anna offers.

This Hostel was a nice clean place to stay. The other people staying there were great, and the bathrooms are large and the water is hot. The people running the place, however, need to learn how to treat foreigners a little better. It seemed that they favored some, and disliked others, for no apparent reason. The front desk person rarely had anything nice to say, and I was poorly treated by all the staff, except for one, for my entire 10 day stay there. I was definitely not giving them reason to, keeping my possessions neat and not being loud or obnoxious at all. I would definitely recommend another hostel if you can find one. Unless, of course, you like being treated like you owe them for their services.
