i travelled around all of europe and this was the best backpackers i stayed in. clean toilets and showers.

quiet at night and very safe. also quite cheap especially as its in the heart of the city.

the best i stayed in.

I thought this was a nice hostel, but quite dull. I didn't really meet anyone here in the 3 days I was staying. The location is very good, and the high-tech door buzzer thingy was quite cool... but the next time I am in Barcelona, I will stay somewhere else. Very clean and safe and all that kind of crap, but no atmosphere.

I stayed here for over a week and I thought it was a fun place to hang out. I met a bunch of really fun people here and ended up travelling with some of them or running into others in various countries. This probably isn't the most organized hostel as a few others pointed out, but it's a fun place to stay and it's in a great location. There were so many nights I walked down to the clubs on the pier and could stumble home after having a few drinks with friends I made from Angie's. Angie is a little weird at first, but then she's really cool after you get to know her. I'll stay here again when I go back to Barcelona because it's so easy to meet people here. (Also, you don't have to give them your passport to hold - I gave them my drivers license instead. It also helps if you know even a little bit of Spanish if you are staying here.)

no food available, loud all day round with minimal privacy and a screaming ninny of a proprietor who comes in at 8 in the morning demanding money or threatening to remove you from the bed. utterly classless, utterly unprofessional, utterly not worth the money-book in advance, book somewhere else, because whatever you're promised here you are NOT going to get it.

(worth noting: decent location, as the bone thrown to honesty)

They confirmed a booking and then when we got there they said they had no record of it. Don't waste your time because they suddenly get limited understanding of english.

This place should be a last resort, dorm rooms are 15euro and are extreamly basic with no security what so ever. And you should note that a 20euro deposit is required for the keys and passports are kept till you leave (dispite the fact that you pay in advance!). Expect little or no sleep. Not for the REAL tourists, more for those who just want someplace to crash for a few days. The staff also leave alot to be desired.
