I really had a great time in Valencia and this hostel. The staff were really friendly, the kitchen was great and the location was perfect. The common area was really fun at night, you could sit in and have some drinks until around midnight then head out.If you are female though, watch out for the naked guy! I was in the shower one day and this little spanish man tried to get into my cubicle twice! Then when i was drying my hair he popped out of the toilet, completely bollock naked and nipped into the shower! Now he is harmless i think but don't let the little perve get away with it, security had to chase him out twice when we were there! He sneaks in the hostel when someone else comes in so watch out for him, he is small fat with glasses and around forty, mmmmmm, lol! Our room was super super hot (it had no window) and a little dirty but honestly don't let that put you off staying, the positives certainly outweigh the negatives. I love Valencia and i am thinking of moving there to teach, it is very Spanish, but hey you are in Spain so get your phrasebook out, have some tapas and make the most of it!

So glad I didnt cancel my reservation here as I had already stayed at Home in Barcelona and was dissapointed at thieir lacklustre attempts to help after having my bag stolen in la ramblas. The one I stayed at in Valencia was Youth Hostel very close to a market in a square with a few bars and restaurants. The english guy who I think was the owner took me to the police station and made out that id had everything stolen in Valencia and helped me with me getting a new passport!.The hostel itself is great with a cool studio lounge-kitchen flooded with natural light from a large glass roof. The other people that worked there were great and helpful with my questions (japanese guy with jamaican dreads).Valencia itself is quite small for a city but heaps of things to see and do and getting drunk at night is no problem with plenty of bars close by.All in all it has so far been the highlight of my travels mainly just because of how at ease I was made to feel at the hostel.A big kiss to all the staff and 3 big ones for the english giant.

One of the best hostels in Spain. It is right smack downtown, near the market and close to some greats bars. It's an easy walk to the train station. The staff is very friendly, and eager to dispense with free t-shirts and with directions to the beach. The rooftop terraces were also a good time. But the best thing about this hostel were the facilities. I've never seen such a good hostel kitchen before, and I don't think I have as many cooking utensils in my own house. All those cooking utensils practically beg you to cook your own meals. Luckily the main market is incredible (but make sure you have some paella before you leave).

We had a triple room, which was great. The location is right in the middle of all the bars and cafes, reasonable walking distance from train station but too far to walk from bus station with all your gear. Clean, ok kitchen, nice staff. Very good for Spain. Also i got a free t-shirt which was cool too!

My husband and I stayed in two different rooms in the Home Deluxe Hostel, and they were both bloody fabulous. We adored everything -- the decor (crisp white linens, a fireplace, antique bed!), the super friendly and accommodating staff, the great directions we received from the train station, the location, the free internet, the kitchen and breakfasts, and the quiet. This is a place you could send you best friend or your favourite aunt. Seriously.

At first, we wanted to go for Playa de Las Arenas Youth Hostel, but apparantly, it got closed down by the city...so we went to HOME instead... This is the place be!!! No joke. Chat, drink and meet amazing people on the roof. With a little climbing, you also get to enjoy the amazing view from the top of the church's roof... Fun staffs, very well-equipped kitchen and organized fridge. And the free food section rocks!!!!

If you don't like this place, it's probably because you're having trouble seeing past your large intestine. I suggest first removing your cranium from your rectum and maybe heading back there. Seriuosly, if Valencia wasn't such a great town I'd still probably come back just to stay at the hostel. As it was, it was Las Fallas and when I got there they gave me a whole packet of info for the festival. The staff was always very nice and helpful, and always looking for ways to better help you.So the place looks really nice, the kitchen is fairly small but very well equipped to cook up all the stuff you buy at the incredible Central Market just across the street. Common chill room is sweet, good furniture and atmosphere and they have a tv room with a dvd library. Good music is always played and at a nice level, and because of the central sun-roof you can hear it from your room when you wake up. I really liked it. Beds were comfy, rooms looked nice and were spacious...and everything was clean thanks again to the friendly, hard-working staff. They run a good operation but aren't uptight about stuff like letting you keep your stuff in the storage room and hanging out in the common room after you've checked out.The location is golden and the price is right. The longest I've ever stayed at a hostel, hotel, anywhere and extremely hard to leave. Still hard to believe that I've left. Take my suggestion knucklehead and don't listen to no jibber jabber.
