I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed my stay. The room was basic, but it was clean, as was the kitchen and bathrooms. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The location is great, about 10 mins walk from station and on a reasonably quiet street in the old town. The one thing I found confusing was they seem to give 2 different street addresses. Fortunately this hostel is on the first street you come to from the train station and just opposite the big food market (handy). I would recommend staying here.

I stayed here for a week for Las Fallas 2003...and had an amazing time!! Dorm rooms; but beds are great, not bunk beds, and there aren't too many beds per room - mine had 4 beds and a balcony. Linen and lockers provided; open kitchen; hostel is open 24 hours; awesome location! staff is great. I had a little trouble finding the hostel with just an address and no map or directions, but get either map or directions ahead of time and you'll be fine. Not the cleanest place I've ever been, but what it lacks in disinfectant it makes up for in atmosphere (this place has the feel of a Cal co-op). Very cool hostel.

First, it's in downtown, rounded of bars, monuments and easy to acces area. The staff is very friendly and some live there too, so we make friends. It's and old building but moderm fashioned whith everything you need (kitchen, internet, phone, dvd, living room, laundry) to feel really like at your home. Valencia is a very friendly city comparing madrid or other big cities. But i really recomend this hostel.

This is one of the best hostels i've ever stayed in. The staff were very friendly and spoke English and Spanish. The hostel itself had all the facilities you could need, and is open 24 hours. It is a little run down, but not so much it mattered to me. It's also quite friendly, with a common room/lounge to sit around and chat in.If all you want to do is sleep then perhaps find somewhere else, but if you want a friendly, fun hostel, come here. Valencia is a beautiful city, far more fun than Madrid, and more fun to hang around in than Barcelona.

Sorry - thought this place was crap!! Staff were very blase and not helpful at all. Thought the room was pretty basic - bathroom on our floor was NOT clean! Bloody noisy yanks everywhere who stayed up till 3am partying in the common room - I'm sure they had a good time but after travelling for 8 hours that day we just wanted to sleep! Definately would not recommend this place.

well what can i say i went to home hostel and thought it was pretty funky and it was for 2 days. i then wake up one morning top find out that because i didnt book my room in advance as i didnt know how long i was staying they had reserved my room and there were no more rooms and i had to leave. you are not allowed guests at this hostel and if you are the staff (who are very wierd to say the least) make you feel very uncomfortable. i then stupidly checked back in to find they made the same balls up again. My advice would be to stay away form this place and the city for that matter go to barcelona or if you like to party alicante as valencia is expensive no one speaks english and is only busy friday and saturday. i can go on for hours about the shithole but im pretty much out of words so just dont go there

This place is friendly, good location, and a lot of fun. Its clean and the staff is very accomodating. There is no curfew or lockout and you can hang out in the common room, watch videos, or walk to several bars nearby. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone going to Valencia.

I'll be the first to admit that my knowledge of the Spanish language is limited to hola, cerveza, and gracias. Therefore, it was the most delightful experience ever to walk into this hostel while the Chili Peppers were in the CD player and the check-in person spoke English. A friend and I were given our own double and the place was spotless. The beds were comfy (from what I remember after coming home from the bars) and the bathrooms were clean. The beers in the vending machine were only .70 euros so it was a cool place to pre-game and hang out with all the other backpackers in the lounge. Above all, however, the hot English guy who worked there was probably the highlight of my stay. I highly recommend it.

After falling victim to the haunted Hostel Las Arenas (on desolate Malvarosa Beach), this was a VERY welcome change of environment for me. It is in a fantastic location, cornering the ancient La Lonja and a little plaza with several yummy cafes and bars. The huge Mercado Centrale is a stonethrow a way, so save some money and buy a feast for practically nothing and then go cook it in their very modern kitchen that is artistically designed to inspire the cook. Only prob was that they don't have an oven, and if the joint is jumping, it may take a while to get your turn in the kitchen. But if that is the case, the LikeatHome people just happen to have a larger hostel with an amazing (larger) kitchen right down the street, and you are welcome to go chill there too, eat, drink and meet even more cool people. The rooms were fantastic, with high ceilings and wild colors and comfy beds. Make sure to request a room with a balcony, because they are perfect spots to write in your journal or just people watch. Even though it isn't the quietest environment, you are sure to make a whole new group of friends, and the atmosphere...although vibrantly painted and innovatively designed- is all about relaxing and remembering that you really ARE on vacation. The staff is fantastic, and try very hard to keep the place very clean and make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. By far, the best hostel I've ever stayed at, and I really wouldn't have minded living there for a long while with the greatly unique group of expats that resided there. Kinda like how MTVs Real World should have been...without so much drama and pretentiousness. No curfew, good bath facilities, modern T.V./VCR room filled with international movies, internet access, and if you're lucky- you might even get to throw in a couple pairs of undies when they are doing the laundry. This place makes Valencia worthwhile, plus they are building a new one in Barcelona soon-- can't wait!
