Anita's Inn and Spanish Panama - major noise problem, June 3, 2008

Quite noisy because of the construction of a large building across the street. At times the noise was unbearable and I had to leave the room. Not a good situation since I was trying to learn Spanish at SpanishPanama which is in the same building and run by the same people. They expected me just to put up with it. It was the noisiest room I have had in 2 years of traveling rough in 40 countries.

Just a vile place I stayed here & wish I hadn't. It was appaling- the place was filthy, and in the night I was eaten alive by something, which I later found out to be bed bugs, as they were spraying something the next day. Stayed up from 4am (because I daren't go back to bed). I also discovered fleas on the sofas in the common area/lounge & the sofas also smelt of cats p... as the wild cats can get in at night & sleep on the sofas. Just a vile place. Across the street is a new building site. Trucks are arriving at 6 in the morning & then the noise goes on all day. Trucks, hammer drills etc. Straight across from the common area/lounge/balcony looking out onto this building site. Six days a week. Check it out when you are in Panama city. Neighbors dog in the apartment next to the balcony barks all the time. One guy bought a dog whistle to shut it up. It worked a little. One of the showers upstairs is electric & there are wires sticking up on top off the showerhead. I was to scared to use use it(water & electricity don't mix). Just cold water to the shower downstairs. So basically only one shower for all. The so called breakfast is non-existant. Avoid it like the Plague or you might get the plague. You won't get any sleep anyway.
