This hostel is ok, I mean we went there and stayed there, but did feel like moving to the much nicer Canadiana, the reason we didnt is simple...tight budget!

The area is really cool (literally in February!), its kinda like Camden in London, has a real residential, funky feel to it, to walk down to Yongue Street or the Entertainment district is pleasant, and involves a cosmpolitan walk through the cities amazing ChinaTown area.

But the hostel itself, is very basic, our room was almost at the end of a long corridoor, and at night it was a bit eerie going all the way down the hall to the shared bathrooms, which you must take your key for?!

The staff sometimes were helpful...like when they sell you one of their stash of cheap CN tower tickets...the rest of the time they couldnt be bothered.

The kitchen is SOOOOOOO Basic, each time we cooked (and there are handy shops and stall all around to buy food), we either couldnt find a plate or a fork, there were no spoons...and when I had just about had enough and asked for a plate from the reception a dusty box appeared from the basement with a new dinner service it in! The room was freezing and draughty, and we had a resident mouse that ran up and down the pipe in our room!

Would I stay again....probably...why...its cheap and I like the area, but the hostel needs a lot of improvement.
