Pros: Modern, clean, safe, friendly, well-located
Cons: It will spoil you for other hostels ... none will come near to being as nice

My wife and I are in the over-sixties, so we are probably more critical than younger people with respect to aspects of quality such as cleanliness, etc. We were overwhelmed by how good this place was ... the owner has really outdone herself to make it a Michellin Five Star Hostel, if there were such things. She ought to write a book for hostel and motel managers.

Durango is a very nice little town to visit -- be sure to check out the two used bookshops, which are stuffed with interesting books. You'll want to extend your stay, staying in this little gem of a hostel.

I found this hostel on what was supposed to be an overnight stop in Durango. It quickly turned into 3 days. What an amazing place. I have backpacked all over the world and this is probably the best hostel I have stayed in. Spotless, comfortable, friendly, modern ...

Candace the owner is also great. She came out partying with us the one night when we hit the town. She really runs a fantastic place. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here.

Oh, Durango is also home to a bunch of fantastic micro-breweries ... just another reason to visit!

Thanks Candace! Ryan Mulholland South Africa

Durango Hometown Hostel exceeded all my expectations, including the beautiful setting, wonderful rear deck with small garden, well-stocked full kitchen with dishwasher and lots of dishes, cookware & utensils of all kinds. Entire place was homey, extremely clean and organized. Attractive linens were provided. A large private bath is available. Great to leave my car there & walk to town, also rode the "T" another day, very easy. jw
