BUG Review
This cute, friendly hostel has a prime location just steps from the beach and the legendary Hermosa Pier. Its two stories are aging but colourful, and some rooms have a nice ocean view. It sits on an esplanade in the heart of the quirky Hermosa town centre, which can be convenient, but which also produces plenty of noise at night echoing into the rooms. A fun, international crowd of backpackers and surfers get together in the common rooms to watch movies and plan trips. Breakfast is free and staff are very helpful. The only real downside is the low level of security, as the front door seems to stay unlocked quite often. Be sure to check out the small rooftop terrace with its stunning coastline view.

Pros: Home of a hillarious Japanese man who you will never forget
Cons: We got kicked out for having a messy room.

The hostel is alright. It's generally average. It's unique and valuable ammenity is that a Japanese man named Jimmy lives there who will make you laugh so often your stomach will tie up. Seriously, this guy is funny beyond words. If you go to Surf City, you WILL meet him.
