HI hostels tend to have a stark, institutional feel, but this one is a definite exception. Its bright colorful walls and impeccably clean floors give it a warm, homey ambiance. Add to that a movie room, a gorgeous living room with piano and log fireplace, and the beach just a block away, and you may never want to leave. Dorms are standard but very clean and cosy, and the huge kitchen is fully equipped. The downstairs courtyard, where they have BBQs on Fridays, has a tile fountain and ivy covered archways. Staff are upbeat and helpful. Young, easygoing travelers come here, many taking advantage of the beach and water sports, as well as tours and activities organized by the HI Travel Store next door.
