Pacific Tradewinds is a nice small hostel near Chinatown and the Financial District. Facilities include a small, but fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area with free internet access (including wireless). Accommodation is in tidy dormitories with secure lockers under the bunk beds. It is a good choice with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.
