San Francisco’s most centrally located HI hostel is just a short walk from Union Square and Powell BART/MUNI Metro station. It is a big hostel with clean rooms. Amenities include a big fully-equipped kitchen, a quiet lounge room and a TV lounge where you can lounge on bean bags and watch films on a big screen. The showers a bit shabby but the excellent water pressure more than makes up for this. There is also internet access ($3 for 60 minutes) including free wireless.

Basically this place is okLOCATION
easy to get here by walking from the BART stationon the edge of the Tenderloin, quite a good downtown location with easy access to many bus routes, cable cars, streetcars. San Fran has great public transitROOM:
my room was a private room with private bath
i paid 67 a night
it was cold though... but the people at the desk gave me a 2nd comforter

good meeting areas and common rooms but a lot of people seemed to spend all their time in the common room on their laptops surfingthe kitchen in the am was better for talking to people
