Pros: Great facilities: bar activities, rooftop deck, garden.

Arequipa is a great city that unfortunately does not make the list of every traveler in Peru. The city is beautiful, safe, full of restaurants and nightlife, and the Colca Canyon is just a few hours away.

The Point Arequipa, like its affiliated hostels in Lima and Cusco, is a great place to stay while exploring Peru. The hostel is in a safe location just a 10 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas. Facilities are extensive and include Barequipa, the in-house bar, complimentary breakfast, affordable tasty dinners, and a kitchen.

When I needed to relax, headed to the garden or rooftop deck (both full of hammocks), and there are a lot of dvds available for free use. Internet is also free for all guests, as are storage lockers for valuables.

The showers were hot as promised, a very welcome surprise here in Peru...

Overall this is a great place to stay, and Arequipa is a city that should not be missed.
