Hang Out @ Mt Emily is an excellent hostel with a very high standard of facilities that include a rooftop area with barbecue and shower pool, a bar/restaurant and a common area with free Internet access, pool table and TV, however kitchen facilities are limited to a microwave and kettle. Accommodation is in very nice dorms that feature real mattresses, plus a locker, desk and clothes-hanging space for each bed. It is more expensive than other hostels but beds are $10 cheaper if you book online.

The Hangout Hotel @ Mount Emily is a pleasant surprise in a city over populated and teaming with people. Take a short walk from the end of the buzzing Orchard Road and you will find a pleasant retreat from the fast paced lifestyle. Hangout is an immaculately clean and comfortable hostel with top notch security and fully functional air conditioning! It also has the bonuses of free internet and coffee/tea. On the top floor there is a wonderful roof top terrace looking out across the city. The only downfall is the lack of atmosphere, the hostel is not really laid out in a way which encourages people to mix and thus doesn't have a "happening" vibe. This of course is a plus for many people and maybe, what the owners are aiming for. Highly reccommended!
