BUG Review
The Inn Crowd is a very clean hostel with a great social atmosphere, which is helped by its great little bar with cheap beer. Facilities include a downstairs common area with pool table, table football, TV lounge and a small kitchen and there's also a nice rooftop sundeck. The dorms are a little large, though.
Price Dorm bed $18 Double room $48
Prices include breakfast Prices are in Singapore dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
Pros:
Staff, location, facilities, activities, other guests are pretty cool too, did I mention great staff
Cons:
New dorms are small but some dorms MAY seem huge; the design IS brilliant so don't be put off

A zillion thanks to all the staff plus all the fabulous "bunkies" for another wonderful SIX STAR stay at The InnCrowd. Loved the excursion/adventure for the Mid-Autumn festival and hope to get back next year to do it again.Wishing you oodles of fun, loads of laughs, more than a few hours of sleep a night from time-to-time and many more interesting guests (all of whom love durian!) before I see you next. Keep up the brilliant work.
Pros:
friendly - helpfull
Cons:
a little to small & squeezed something out of every inch of space.

This place ok on the hole. a little small for my likeing. Quick turn over of travellers as no one spends more than a week in singapore.if you want a private room, then book at very least 2 weeks before you arrive. we did 2 days in the dorm until one was available & the dorms are very compact, if your a light sleeper, be warned. Thailand & singapore get a lot of new travellers on the first leg of there world tour & as a result are noisy & inconsiderate with lights, mobile phones & endless rustling of plastic bags or zipping/unzipping rucksacks alnight!!!!!!!They are a friendly bunch that run this place but the toilets/wc's do stink. Little india is a great place to be in singapore as the curry houses are super cheap and very tasty. little india never sleeps & is surprizingly safe at night. The hostel is a 15min cab from the airport & singapore is the travellers hub for asia. flights to anywhere start at $us50This hostel gets 6/10 - basic - compact - safe - no thrills
Pros:
Freezing aircon rooms, free brekky & internet!!!
Cons:
Very large dorms!

Didn't really know what to expect when we booked this hostel on the internet, all we were hoping is that is was clean. As soon as we walked in and saw reception and the dorm, that box was ticked. The dorm we stayed in had 36 beds however don't let this put you off, the way the walls and beds are positioned it felt like a much smaller dorm. The huge plus was the aircon of the dorm the windows and doors are double glazed so that keeps the cold in. The bathrooms are ok, clean but not sparkly. The showers are fairly powerful and warm, however you might turn them colder as the bathrooms aren't air-conned. Security is really good if you choose to have a locker at reception ($10 deposit), otherwise your valuables are at their own risk in a 36 bed dorm! Free broadband internet and probably the best free breakfast we've had, because as well as the usual tea, coffee, toast, jam etc, they also have eggs for you to cook & it's served until midday! The nearest MRT station from the airport is Bugis, however we found if you're travelling around the city Little India station is closer. Overall the hostel is a clean, tidy, place with a nice atmosphere in an awesome location in bustling Little India.

Cramped and grotty - not nice ..., August 18, 2006
I was surprised that this place had received such good reviews on the web, as I thought it was pretty grim. I can only assume that the benchmark here is a lot lower than it was in Australia (where I'd come from before Singapore).First comment is that the dorms are 16 bed ones, i.e. enormous. From my own travels, I would say that an 8, possibly 10, bed dorm is the maximum size before people's differing getting up/going to bed times start to become irreconcilable. There appeared to be one weak aircon unit for the entire dorm, which is not fun in Singapore's all-year-round humid climate. Luggage had to be put in one area at the end of the dorm, which meant you had to clamber over people's rucksacks and suitcases to get to your own. The door was never locked so security was potentially an issue. The hostel had a bizarre rule where you had to take off your footwear before going upstairs to the dorms. This is a dubious regulation to have in a hostel, where there are hundreds of pairs of feet passing through each day. Are they all clean/lacking in veruccas/etc? I don't think so. Similarly, who wants to wander through a bathroom barefoot when you have other residents pissing on the floor because they're too drunk to aim straight? Not a very well thought out policy. The bathrooms were also not clean (and smelled of urine), and had a similar lack of aircon - apart from first thing in the morning, they were more like a sauna. The shower cubicles were so small that any clothes you brought in to the cubicle would get sprayed. The sinks had no hot water (not much use if you need to shave), and the cold water tap had to be continually pressed on to keep the flow going. This review probably looks like a rant, but I can honestly say that this place was worse than almost all of the 30-odd hostels I stayed in in Australia, which was extremely disappointing given Singapore's reputation for cleanliness and order. I felt as though it had been designed by people who had never been hostelling before. I would definitely NOT stay here again.
Pros:
The staff, the location and Aileen!
Cons:
Ummmmm...cant think of anything!

Myself and my girlfriend spent 9 days @ the Inn Crowd and loved every minute! The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They did say to us that we shouldnt stay that long in Singapore, that we would get bored after a few days but we loved every day. There is loads to do if you just go out and explore outside the main city. The zoo is the best zoo in the world!!!
The hostel is in the heart of Little India and is surrounded by Indian business' with friendly locals. The area was, for us, very safe. Never had a bad experience the whole time we were in Singapore.
Make sure you go next door into the cafe. It is a great place to relax and Aileen will look after you well!! She rocks!
Stay here it's only great!
