BUG review
Tamworth YHA is a fairly standard youth hostel with the usual kitchen, TV lounge and barbecue facilities. Accommodation is in six and eight-bed dormitories with made up beds. The sign at reception asking guests to “speak English in the kitchen and eating area” implies a feeling of xenophobia that may make some guests feel unwelcome, although I am sure that many will find this sort of narrow-minded nationalism – which borders on racism – downright offensive. It is in the centre of Tamworth, across the road from the train station.
About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.
We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
