BUG review
Glen Helen Resort is a remote roadhouse with a nice location at Glen Helen Gorge. It has a small outback pub, camping and very basic backpackers' accommodation. Backpackers stay in old and slightly run-down rooms, but it is kept clean enough. Although the hostel-style accommodation isn't too great, it is still a relatively good option if you want to camp or park your campervan.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.

Don't worry about prissy Americans, this is a rustic and well run establishment set amongst fascinating and beautiful scenery. Clean pool, nice beds, great bar!

They use recycled sewage to water the lawns which leaves the most awful stench that made me dry heave. The rooms are terrible. They are dirty with dirty cement floors.
