BUG review
This is the run down sister hostel to Global Palace. It has small dark rooms and old bathrooms. There is an upstairs TV lounge with a pool table and nice ocean view, but it is looking very tired. They offer cheap internet ($3.50 per hour) and a tour desk, but facilities are otherwise limited. The kitchen is substandard and there is not much of an atmosphere.
About BUG's hostel reviews

I stayed here for a few days Sept 2003. The good things: The location was superb, right on the esplanade. The free meal was welcome, but only available at certain times, there were 5 options, including 1 vege option. The pick-up was great from the airport, prompt and friendly. The room and bathrooms were clean. The bad things: they had no record of the reservation that I had made and confirmed on the web, luckily they had room though, the room was really basic, I have stayed in better, the communal areas were good but they were devoid of people so the place lacked atmosphere and it was really noisy. I was woken at 4am every day by the noise from the building behind the hostel (lots of machinery and vehicles). I probably wouldnt stay there again.

very centrally located, they recommended great tours to us. their laundry facilities are open 24hours. you can do wash in the middle of the night (i loved that). i was there in july of 2002. they were extremely busy so the staff was overwhelemed and not as on top of things as much as i would have preferred.
