BUG review
Pam's Place is a lovely hostel set among tropical gardens with a saltwater swimming pool and a barbeque area with fireplace. It also features a relaxed TV room, pool table and internet access. There is a small bar on-site plus a clean fully-equipped kitchen. The air-conditioned dorms are small but nicely fitted out with good beds and colourful duvets. The management are kind and friendly, and there is a good relaxed atmosphere here. It is a great place to unwind after exploring the area.

Was amazed to read other review as this is a great place. Beautiful gardens, lots of character, really nice rooms, kitchen, pool etc. and if you walked a km. you'd have gone through the town centre and fallen off the end of the wharf! YHA discounts given. Very friendly and helpful owner with lots of local info. Had a great time. Hope I can return.

About 1 km from town, not as stated above. Facilities seemed nice but if you want a beer on a Saturday night without walking through the rain to town then forget it as the staff shut the bar at 730 pm. YOU CANNOT BYO to the premises. Hopefully you won't get a dorm with one of the many noisy itinerants that seem to inhabit the place.

Dorms start at $19-00/ night with no concession for YHA members. Great meals at the Cape York hotel in town and Cooktown generally is a beautiful place with a number of points of interest.

Lcal pubs are also an option for accomodation.
