BUG review
Berri Backpackers is a big hostel with lots of facilities and a really good atmosphere. There are extensive gardens areas with lots of sculptures plus hammocks, a massage table, meditation room and yoga room an outdoor kitchen and a couple of tree houses (if you’re feeling romantic). There is also a beach volleyball court, tennis court, swimming pool and sauna. Some of the buildings are a big old but they are clean and the bathrooms are newly renovated. Inside there is a TV lounge with loads of books and several small kitchens and there’s a cosy games room with table tennis and a pool table. Guests have free use of bicycles.

Me and my friend Cath from Sidcup stayed for just over 2months in 1996-we made so many friends there and are still in touch with all. Out of 10months round Oz it's the best backpackers we stayed in. Re-visited in Nov 04 just for 2days.1 of the Uk guys we met in 1996 was marrying an Aussie girl he'd met in Berri town. Was good to see Wiggo again & stay even though sadly for 2 days only. We were in Oz 1 week (4 of us who met in Berri in 96) but chose 2 of those days to stay back in the backpackers!! Atmosphere still just as great & made new friends.

Like everyone else I went to Berri for a few weeks and ended up staying 3 months the first time & six weeks the second back in 1997. Had a fantastic time , it's a wonderful place with an amazing atmosphere where I met some of the best people during my whole time travelling. A lot of us are still in contact & regularly talk about having a Berri reunion in Berri. A massive thanks to Wiggo & Frankie for everything - you're definitely the best!

Stayed at least 3 months and still not the longest person there.....its impossible to stay two weeks.... the facilities are excellent, the bbqs are great the partys even better, happy hour down the local hotel every friday are essential and the people staying in the hostel are what make it even greater....if you dont belive me go there for a day to check it out and become another one of us, someone who just cant leave.

frankie and wiggo and the cats and little dog make it very welcoming.

You even have hostel cars to use for work and for shopping..and to get you to happy hour of course. just get the non drinker theirs always one to drive...bribe them with a soft drink, it usually works.

I was there from June-August 2001 so it's getting on for three years since I was there and I still really miss it. Best wishes to anyone who reads this who was there at the same time as me and remembers me. I didn't realise that the best time that I'd spend in australia would be the months I was working. Make sure you go here.

You may think to stay in Berri a couple of weeks to pick fruits and then leave right after...That's what everybody think! Well, if you're like us, you'll be here for a month, 2 months, maybe 6, you never know! There's free internet access and that's really the greatest place I have been in Australia! The most friendly poeple are there!

Well i first stayed at this Backpackers in 1996.I was thinking of staying 2 weeks. That never happened i stayed 3 months. This hostel has the lot,the attention to detail is fantastic.I returned to OZ in 2000 & again i would stay in Berri for only 2 weeks.Again i stayed longer ,this time 5 months.Wiggo & Frankie (the owners)run a good ship, based on trust.I hope the place never changes as you really meet some great people.Back in England we have Berri reunions ,talking about picking fruit (hard work)& all the parties we had at the hostel.I reccomend anyone a visit, you can easily be trapped.Anyway all the best scott,Birmingham,England
