BUG review
Radeka's is a long established underground hostel with lots of accommodation in a deep dug out. The dorm accommodation consists of a 6.5m deep cavern with lots of big dorms separated from the main corridor by curtains, although double and twin rooms have proper doors. Shared facilities include an above ground fully-equipped kitchen and a dining room with a TV plus a bar with a pool table. Like most places in Coober Pedy, the reception doubles as an opal shop.

I stayed here for 1 night. The owner gave me a million pieces of information about Coober Pedy, which turned out to be very useful. The dorms are underground, which is an interesting novelty - note that they are in recesses in the rock, rather than proper rooms, so security is minimal. Only a bottom sheet and pillow-case are provided, so you need a sleepsheet or sleeping bag. There weren't many other people in residence so I didn't really get a chance to experience the atmosphere. One minor quibble was that you have to return to ground level if you need the loo or a shower, and the showers weren't the most spacious I've seen.

Stayed for one night at Radeka's. The owners are very nice and helpful. The mine tour organised by the hostel is also very nice. But sleeping in a coomon dorm with 23 others is not a very pleasant experience. Also the dorm rooms under the ground get very very cold in the night and linen is provided only at an extra cost. A little over priced for the room and facilities. A few more showers and toilets and preferably seperate ones for ladies and men would have been very nice.

Really good hostel under the ground (although they all are in Coober Pedy). Has a strange atmosphere because of this - like something out of Mad Max. Pretty good facilities though and easy to arrange mine tours. I would also recommend requesting to stay in the Dungeon - the deepest reaches of the hostel and most eerie.
