BUG review
The Harvest Trail Lodge is a big concrete building with an institutional atmosphere, but it is clean enough and it has a central location near the tourist information centre. The hostel has a big veranda with a pool table, table tennis and a barbecue plus two small kitchens, a TV lounge and air-conditioning throughout the hostel.

The facilities are clean and it's great to have Cable Tv and your own fridge in the room. However, since there's no TV lounge people tend to stay in there rooms instead of hanging out together. The balcony is a bit boring and the kitchens are sparcely equipped so there's constant fighting about utensils. On the postive note there is a 50% discount on rent when there is not work + free transport to and from work. The list of who's working and not is also displayed early in the afternoon (and not at 9.30 pm like at Barmera backpackers). There were hardly any work when we stayed here but it was a nice experience.

well i stayed here for 3 weeks at the end of may/early june and i can honestly say i didn't earn any money at all!the weather was the main problem so if you're coming here to work come in the summer! as for the hostel, its well run, but has a prison air about it (apparently it actually used to be one but don't quote me on that) and it lacks a common room where everyone can hang out. having said that theres a tv and fridge in every room. you get towels, linen and free tea, coffee, milk and rice. the kitchens and showers are ok and the landlord's a pretty decent guy- he'll try his best to get you work and even put a load of money behind the local bar for us once! oh and beware, there is a lot of alcohol consumption here, especially when theres no work, because there's f**k all to do in loxton!!!
