BUG review
This old house is on a quiet residential street far from the centre of Devonport. It is a traditional (an institutional 1960s-style) youth hostel with a depressing feel and old dowdy furnishings. However it is cheap and clean enough and all the basic facilities are there including a small fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area and a TV lounge. The depressing atmosphere and remote location makes this a last resort - and that is really saying something when you consider the dire state of Devonport's other hostels!
About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.
We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.

we got a big room: queen bed with extra blankets, two single bunkbeds, a built in heater, a clothes rack with clothes hangers, huge windows, and towels too! they changed our towels every day and put fresh towels in all the toilets as hand-drying towels and floormats. it's not a party-place.
