BUG review
Montgomery's YHA is a clean and well maintained hostel a short walk to museums and the waterfront. There is a small fully-equipped kitchen and a TV lounge with internet access including Wi-Fi ($7 per hour, $50 10 hours; Mouse on Mars). The accommodation is of a high standard but it doesn't have the atmosphere of smaller hostels.

well situated in the city centre, but that's all. was there during some refurbishment works, so hope it's better now!kitchen was on the ground floor, REALLY small, common room with TV upstairs with no lights... rooms were really old fashioned and there were not enough showers. the building has several floors, so if you're lucky as I was, you'll be happy to carry your bags up to the top one! security is fine, and it's true that the staff is not friendly.

I had the twin-share room with ensuite - neat, comfortable and orderly. The room is a little cramped, but hey, you aren't supposed to be spending time in the room all holiday! The location is good - close to the waterfront and the Tourist Information Centre and Salamanca Place is just a little way down from that after. The staff ARE helpful - they were very kind to accommodate my luggage storage demands but they were a little less so when it comes to tour info. Be warned: Reception closes very punctually (after 11pm) and the place is rather subdued. There's a bar/pub next door which belonged to the hostel though.

The place was reasonable enough but I have never come across more unwelcoming and unfriendly staff during my travels. If it wasn't for them this place would be great but I highly recomend you do not stay there!
