BUG review
St Helens YHA is a demoralising old house on a quiet residential street with basic facilities that include a lounge with a TV, fireplace and a few books. It is a traditional YHA that manages to make even a small house feel depressing and institutional with its rules (no alcohol and don't even think about enjoying yourselves) and overbearing management.

The staff were friendly but a little odd lol. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The hostel is in a good location and feels like being at home as it is a converted house. The living area was comfortable and there were more than adequate kitchen facilities, it all just needs updating. It also had a back garden for sitting out in in the morning with your breakfast!
