BUG review
Surfside Backpackers is a small hostel with a homely atmosphere, but the building is a little old and the facilities are a bit dated. Amenities include a small fully-equipped kitchen and a lounge with old sofas, a record player, a coin-operated internet computer ($6 per hour) and big windows with a fantastic view of the beach. There are verandas around the hostel and a nice outdoor barbecue area.

They have started to renovate the back of one building but unfinished .This place is stuck in past needs to come into the future wouldn't stay here only as a last resort

it was a real great place, near the beach, awesome kitchen, nice overall at first sight. but if you look closer, it could be a little more clean (4 spiders in bedroom, dead flies in beds, worst beds ever. no rails at the loftbeds, dorm quite small for 6 people ). didnt like, that we had to cross the garden to get to the bathroom, but there are dorms, that are in the same house as the bathrooms (request it!!). the lady who runs the place is really nice though. would go there again.

Staff was very nice. We got an en suite with 4 beds. The place is a little old, but the rooms are clean and overall a nice place to stay.

I was pretty impressed with this backpackers. Not many places have a living room window which opens out to an amazing view of the beach. I was able to walk out the back door, cross the Great Ocean Road and there was the beach. The staff were really helpfull and I fell in love with Apollo Bay. The backpackers looks a bit old on the outside and the place could do with a coat of paint but the place was pretty clean with nice bathrooms and a fully facilitated kitchen. This is one of the better backpackers I've stayed in around Victoria. I've recommended it to my friends and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The place was okay, there was sand all through the bedrooms which got into all our packs and beds, the bathroom was very dirty. We found the people staying there really friendly and the views where great. The land lady didn't seem to know much about the place and couldn't give a lot of help.
