BUG review
Echuca's YHA is a lovely hostel on a quiet residential street about a 10-minute walk from the town centre. It is a small hostel in a 140-year-old cottage, which makes it Australia's second-oldest hostel; but it is much better maintained that many 10-year-old hostels. It is a charming hostel with a cosy atmosphere. Facilities are limited to a small TV lounge with a fireplace, a small kitchen and laundry. It only has 10 beds so it pays to book ahead if you're planning on staying on a weekend. This youth hostel caters exclusively to short term guests (if you're in Echuca to work, then you'll need to stay at the big hostel on High Street).
About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.
We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
