BUG review
This hostel is one of the worst places to stay in Australia. Piles of dirty plates clutter up the filthy kitchen, the bathroom seems like it has been left to itself for years and the entire house is one big and appalling mess. The Borderline Backpackers has a television and an ugly outdoor barbecue area, but that’s far from enough to make this a habitable place.

This is a pretty good working hostel it has to be said. Vicky and Russell own 3 houses in Mildura, 2 on 7th St and 1 on 15th St and all are pretty cool. I stayed in the one on 15th St which seems to be miles from anywhere but its definately the best. The place is an actual house, not a hostel as such which is sooo nice after staying in loads of crappy hostels. its got a proper living room, bathroom, kitchen and a back garden with a sofa outside. you get charged $20 a week for transport which seems a bit much but if you're nice to them (and believe me you have to stay on the right side of vicky and russell, esp vicky!) they'll take you anywhere- including the pub. there was also tons of work (i was there mid march to mid april) with good hours and good pay, so left with a load of money as well which was nice. may not suit everyone (vicky can get a bit irritating as she's practically deaf, and she does have a tendancy to cram people in) but in my experience, the place was good fun, nice to live in and i earned a s**t load of money which is what its all about.
