BUG review
This hostel is set in a block of flats with accommodation in self-contained units; each with a TV, kitchen and bathroom. Some travellers like the home-style feel (like living in an apartment), but it also means that there is no central common area for travellers to mix so you end up just hanging out with people in your own unit. It is located south of the city centre on Deakin Avenue, across the road from McDonalds and a short walk from the Centro Mildura shopping centre.

i have stayed in this hostel for a year like 50% of the people who stay here, back in 2010, and found it to be the best hostel in all my travels in oz. found a well paid job after 2 weeks of crap jobs got my 2nd visa here, the managment will do all they can to help you with any thing as long as you do the right thing, loved the private kichen set up, feels like one big family, we all party togeather on the weekends at the Sandbar (free ride) or at the hostel, i only left bcz my visa ran out but will be back one day, fully recommend it to all fellow travellers

I Really enjoyed my stay in Mildura both my partner and i felt very relaxed and had good craic!!!! I didnt want to leave Mildura but it was time, i loved the whole set up of the hostel, i wouldnt even call it a hostel, it was just like your own apartment, loved it. The atmosphere around the hostel in the evenings was great, everybody was after a long hard days work but still managed to socialise. The facilities were great and location was even better, 5min walk to the main shopping mall in Mildura. But what made our stay even more enjoyable was Tony the manager. He was a great help not only to us but to everyone ( his BBQ's were great). If u had any problems he would help you sort them and always has a smile on his face morning noon nite. My stay in Mildura was very memorable and would defenitly go back for a visit without a doubt. Mildura is worth a visit even to experience the work on the farms, thats something i wont forget and have memories of for ever and stay in Mildura Central Backpackers where the people, service and price are excellent. Thanks Tony for everything hope to see u soon. Cv

I spent 1 month here because i had heard there would start a job in the beginning of december. After all the job began a week later, so we could wait here and there was really nothing to do. The job itself was very bad: we worked from 06.00am to 07.00pm, very very hard work without enough rest. And finally it was pay-day: the farmer paid us way less than we had agreed beforehand. Almost all the workers stopped the job and left the hostel. And then the hostel staff didn't give some people the key- and linen deposit back. Please read some more story's about Mildura..and don't go there!

My son went missing in oz and as a worried father I spent 4-5 days contacting hostels, the police and local employers of backpackers without any luck. I spoke to Layla at this hostel to see if he was there which he wasnt but she promissed me she would make some calls to see if she could track him down. Within 3-4 hours she found my son who was in hospital and provided a phone number to contact him and five mins later I was able to speak to him. She was amazing and did what the police could not do and just did it just because she cared enough to help. Without her intervention we would have continued to worry for days and if we had no news would of had to fly out to Oz. So I am not posting commnets of my experience of my stay at this accomodation but as she is the one who runs this place it will be a 100% certainty that any overseas traveller who stays here is safe in the knowledge that there is a person who they can go to if they need any help or advice. She didn't have to do what she did but she is one of those special human being who wants to help others if she can. If you read this & go to this hostel please ask for layla and tell her how gratefull I am and that these commnents are why you decided to stay at her hostel. Happy times to you all Paul M Olloman Woburn Sands 12/12/2008
