BUG review
Ningaloo Club at Coral Bay is an outstanding backpackers’ hostel with all the amenities you would expect from one of Australia’s better hostels. Facilities include a kitchen, barbecue, laundry, TV lounge, internet access and a swimming pool and there is a good bar that’s open till midnight. It is just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. As this is the only hostel in town, it’s advisable to book ahead.

Ningaloo Club is a new and spacious backpacker. The rooms are huge - I think it was a 12-bed dorm - not really what I'd call comfy and worse the air-con was set to an absurd low temperature with no possibility to change it. We asked the lady at the reception to rise the temperature what she reluctantly did but it wasn't sufficient. Still being freezing cold in the room we asked for blankets which she gave us hardly hiding her annoyance. So we were fine for the night, but fellow guests in our room without blanket had a hard time... But that is the only drawback apart from the hot(!) saltwater showers but that's propably a general problem in Coral Bay. You can book discounted tours at the reception which saves you that little extra. The manta-snorkelling is definitely worth it!

Pros: Great location and facilities are wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed.
Cons: Bugs everywhere in corriders, had to work to keep them out of rooms. No cold water in showers.

Ningaloo Club is a pretty decent hostel. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they allow you to have a free stay if you clean for 2 hours each day. Right on the beach, so there is always something going on. Attahced bar is slightly overpriced, but has a good atmosphere. A bit of a party hostel, so if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, probably not the best choice. Only complaints are the beetles all over the corriders and the lack of cold water in the showers, got too hot at times.

I loved this place. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was great and the bar/lounge was an awesome place to chill and play some pool or table tennis (or have a few drinks). The showers were huge and awesome. Lots of water pressure from the bore water!

The staff was very helpful and very forthcoming in their opinions of different tours which is refreshing having dealt with people that just want to separate you from your money.

I would stay here again and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Good hostel, friendly, well run, didnt stay very long but no complaints, got a good lively crowd, seems most people off the nightrider bus stayed here and livened it up...clean rooms, showers etc, well stocked kitchen.

This place gets very busy, so it's well worth booking in advance if you're intending staying here.

I stayed in a spacious 6-bed dorm and was impressed with the facilities. Note that Coral Bay has a severe shortage of fresh water, so you'll find salt water in the showers and bathroom sinks - a bit of a shock when you first brush your teeth. The kitchen is maybe a little small for the number of people trying to use it, but there's lots of outside seating where it's easy to meet other travellers. There's also a bar, pool table, and table tennis, and you can book all sorts of tours from the friendly reception.

The Internet access is rubbish. There was some sort of page caching issue on all of the machines, so that attempting to look up recent World Cup results gave me match reports from Middlesbrough's European campaign last season. Couldn't figure out how to deal with this (and I work in IT ...) so ended up going to the Internet place in the neigbouring shopping centre ($7 per hour!)

I would stay here again.

This place really is lovely ... and should easily be a four star hostel. Problems? 1) Some staff members need to chill out! 2) Cost .. a little pricey.. this site is outdated and they no longer accept VIP despite being in the VIP Aus book!!! 3) Lack of quiet TV/Chill out area - the only TV are in the noisy Bar area. Otherwise the place is lovely. Pool great and experienced none of the cleaniness issues of previous reviews - in fact someone seem to be cleaning the place all the time. Do have ants around - but then its the outback ... what the hell do people expect! Really enjoyed my stay here ... and with a few extra touches place really could be four and possibly even five star.

Could have and should have stayed longer, Coral Bay is less hassle than Exmouth.

Not sure what some of the comments meant. I had a great time as it was easy to do something or absolutely nothing.

Creepy crawlies - at times yes but look where you are Duhhhhh!

Ps Pub is shit expensive Manta Bar is far cheaper and views can be better.

Only bummer is , can be noisy some nights

I didnt experience as much negativity as many of the reviewers here did at this hostel ; the faciltiies seemed fairly good, and there was good security and so on. However, I have met many people who stayed there across the same period as me who had problems with bugs and invading pests. Personally I managed ok there, apart from the odd cockroach, although some of the staff were more friendly than others.

After reading the reviews here on this hostel I stayed their with trepidation, but I had no problems at all. I don't know how people can claim the hostel is dirty as it's less than 2 years old and very well looked after. I do agree their is a problem with flies, but I've had that problem since I arrived in Darwin and this hotel is no worse than others I've stayed at and much better than most. They cleaned the kitchen and eating area at least 3 times a day that I saw. I didn't have an a/c room as I didn't need it was cool enough to do without, but the other hostels I used futher north that I had a/c the a/c was switched on automatically at 19:00 and off at 08:00 and you had very little control over it.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the kitchen is small for the size of hostel, and the crockery they supply is the industructable type which melts if you put it in the microwave and their were no other microwaveable dishes or plates available.

Overall on my 6 weeks through NT and WA this is one of the best hostels I've stayed in and Coral Bay itself is a real gem of WA.
