BUG review
This hostel is easy to find as it’s the large striking building that also houses the tourist information centre. Once you get inside the beauty fades as it could be both cleaner and better maintained. The larger dorms are big with twenty beds and the common areas are shabby. Facilities are rather minimal and are limited to a basic kitchen, laundry, internet access and a TV. The atmosphere isn’t very good either – Batavia feels gloomy and empty.

This hostel was great to stay in I had a really relaxing stay. Building has an old feel to it with excellantly planned rooms either looking into the courtyard or out to a pleasant view. The hostel managers give you information as you check in on the area and are on hand if you have any further queries they are always willing to listen to you if you feel a little lonely and direct you to areas of interest. You cannot miss the art gallery, the museum (make sure you watch the video) and the tour at the lobster factory (the tour guide may give you a lift back to batavia if your ask nicely). Joyce (lady manager) will help you as much as possible in getting a job if you want to stay long term and there is a good atmosphere amoung the long termers make sure you go down to frostbites for a couple of emu beers.
