BUG review
Accommodation here is good value as the house is clean, well-maintained and comfortable. The common room has a great relaxed ambience, the bedrooms are sparkling clean with made-up beds and the bathrooms are very nice. Facilities include a laundry, a good kitchen, internet access, a pool table and a collection of books and board games. There’s a big backyard with a barbecue.

A truly wonderful hostel with the most fantastic atmosphere. The warm welcome makes you feel instantly at home. The place is spotless and the kitchen is very well equip. As for Mr/Mrs Anonymous from blighty - well i worked there for 5 wks over the time he/she stayed there and Jazzy Roo never once pooped in the hostel - she was and still is very much house trained - stay at home if you have a prob with oz wildlife Mr/Mrs Blighty cos Walpole Lodge/Backpackers is one of the most wonderful hostels you're ever likely to find!

Nice hostel spoilt by having to eat in the dining room amongst all the roo poo. A bit like the denmark hostel with the dog hanging around you while you cook and eat.

We've been travelling around Australia for a while now and have stayed in all sorts of places but loved it here - a great place to stay after a long day on the road. The room was spotless as was the great kitchen.

We actually happened to be the only people staying there but the owners made us feel really welcome. The log fire was burning and we settled in to watch TV for the evening.

Excellent!

This is the best backpackers i have stayed in during my 7mths in OZ so far. The 3 owners are helpful and very experienced in the local knowledge. They ensure the hostel remains relaxed to stay in and is always spotless. The open plan feel helps to ensure everyone gets to know each other. Matches the stunning area.I came for 1 day and stayed 10!!

From the first day I arrived, it was great. The owners were very welcoming, and passionate about the hostel. The place is brand spanking NEW, and everyone keeps it clean.

The fella really knows the area as well, he used to work for CALM, (environment/countryside agency) and knows the best places to go to.

Off the main road, but near shops, it excellently placed in a quiet area.

Oh! You HAVE to go to the Pub, and look on the wall...

I stayed an extra 2 days.
