BUG review
This basic but cute backpackers’ is 4km from the airport and 500m to the beach – an enticing view of which is available from the hilltop grounds of the Medlands. Dorm beds are set in small bungalows behind the main house, which is currently inhabited by a friendly Aussie family running the place. Accommodation is simple; a bit of art livens up the bungalows, but a nice deck and scenic views are the real eye-grabbers here. Private houses and a double-bed “love shack” also dot the sprawling property, and a vegetable garden grows in front. Facilities include a small common room and kitchen. Body boards, flippers and snorkels are available to borrow.
