BUG review
This beautifully-restored 1904 kauri villa is much more of a luxury B&B than ordinary hostel, but there is one six-bed dorm for backpackers, who get to share the lovely surroundings and facilities. The kitchen is immaculate, with breakfast and free tea and coffee provided daily. A nice veranda has good views over the valley below, and the free spa pool makes for a rare treat on the backpacker circuit. The dorm room itself is not the most spacious we’ve ever seen, with a pair of three-tiered bunks in close quarters. They’re well-designed bunks, at least, with lockers built into them. Malolo House is definitely not a party spot, but a place to add a bit of class and refinement to your travels.

This is a nice place, but compared to the other backpackers we stayed in it wasn't as clean. Although, the beds are wonderful. They are super thick and they have nice warm duvets. I might stay there again, but only if it was in a different town. Helensville is not a very exciting town.

The people at Malolo are really nice and friendly. Their rooms are very cosy with comfy beds and lovely linen. The breakfast was yummy also :)
