BUG review
As the name might suggest, this site caters primarily to camper vans. However, there is some backpacker-style accommodation available, so it’s worth a mention. Backpackers can set up in one of the parked caravans (which have a kitschy early 60s feel) or in the four-bed “Hobbit House”, a little cabin with a rounded roof and porthole windows that is actually pretty charming. There’s a small, extremely rustic, indoor common area with a TV, and a big outdoor barbecue area with picnic tables and a nice view of a waterfall. There’s also an indoor spa pool. Sheepworld Caravan Park is right next door to the Sheepworld attraction, so you can’t get any closer to the sheep-shearing action than this.

Pros: We never got the chance to find out any pros
Cons: Customer service on phone and face to face is so below poor, the owner himself's customer service.

I realise it was a last minute booking and was rushed but it doesn't give anyone the right to act like the owner did. We live in West Auckland and had to travel an hour and a half up to Warkworth to get a call from the owner when we just got there he had double booked the unit we were suppose to be in with another family. There was about 40 of us including children & infants and he didn't even care at all or try to help in any way. The unit was going to accommodate a couple of adults, infants and younger kids. The rest were going to be in tents. We were all there for my dad's 60th birthday the next day. My dad went to his campsite to try and work out some kind of accommodation, especially the use of the necessary facilities at least & he gave a didn't care attititude and was going of at my dad who was very calm but was worried about where we're going to stay, especially the infants and kids. While my dad was trying to think of what to do as this owner was not helpful at all, the owner started swearing of at my father and complaining about my dad taking up his time etc...Excuse the language, but he was such a wanker I really wanted to knock him out. That's how bad he was. We had tried everything to be respectful towards him but he really brings out the worst in people, honestly. It's no wonder his campsite was the only one with vacancy during the new year holidays in the Rodney area, honestly. I had phoned every site in the Rodney area & they were all fully booked accept SheepWorld with still vacancies.

I am a person that like to support others and their business and hate speaking bad about others. This owner's attitude really pushes you to right a poor review on his business and really puts you of his camp site. Yet he states on their website, friendly reception. Load of crap!!!

Good luck if you ever come across this looser!

Hostel manager's right of reply

Hi there the reveiw written of Ians handling of this persons booking and the things she has stated are very unfair one mistake on our part a double booking no money was paid in advance. We had a phone call at 3.00AM !!! to say they would be arriving early the next day this put me into alert mode.....Then on arrival father was very rude and asking for huge discounts. We were busy hence the double booking, and their numbers suddenly went from 20 to 40 !!!! No rudeness on Ians part. BUT 15 minutes after they had left the women rang with the most abusive language i have heard over the phone..GLAD to see the back end of their car go down the road.!!!!...
