BUG review
This is a lovely hostel in Mount Cook Village. It features a nice big common area with a big screen TV, a spacious fully-equipped kitchen, a sauna and a barbecue outside. The dorms are well appointed but a bit cramped, and there are sometimes large school groups here. But the location is excellent, and there are stunning views from many of the rooms. It is heated throughout and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. You can book all your activities here, and there is a shop at reception for supplies and groceries.

I loved this hostel, it's in the most gorgeous location, really in the middle of nowhere, there's fantastic walking and the hostel itself is a joy to come back to. I stayed here a week, and I found the staff and people staying so friendly it felt like a second home.

The facilities are spotless and kitchen well equipped, the sauna is great, and there is a really good video collection which is free.

Foodwise, the shop in the hostel and village are both pretty small, so stock up before you go if you stay a while, but there are the basics there, and it's not a huge deal.

Overall I had the most relaxing time I've had in New Zealand here!

It's the ONLY hostel at Mt. Cook, so stay there, or bring a super high-durability tent. It's clean enough and you won't get any nasties but the beds, floors, and doors creak like no other, so don't plan on too much sleep.

Every morning I woke up I could see spectacular Mt.Cook with ice on it. The view here is amazing, and the utensils are great - It's definitely one of the best hostel I've seen.

This is a great hostel with good beds and an excellent setting. All the main walks start within minutes of the hostel, and the scenery is amazing. We had a great view of Mount Sefton from our bedroom window. The kitchens are really good, and the hostel has it's own spa and video selection.
