BUG review
Located about 1km south of town, this modest place offers a range of accommodation including a backpackers’ house in the old shearers’ quarters. It is quite old, but it tries, although the focus here is more on the bed and breakfast. Amenities include a good kitchen, a cosy living room with log fire and TV, laundry facilities and a barbecue area outside with and views of Aoraki/Mount Cook on clear days. Management are welcoming and helpful, but there is not a very good atmosphere since it is out of town.

About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.
