BUG review
The upscale charm of Havelock North does not extend to Peak Backpackers, a rundown place very out of step with its surroundings. The furnishings and facilities are extremely tired – exhausted is more like it – with thrift-store couches and crazy old car-seat chairs littering the halls and common spaces. Facilities include a messy kitchen, a small TV and internet access. Rooms are reasonably tidy, although the bedding is old. There’s more the character of a doss house than a hostel here.
