BUG review
YHA Napier is right across the road from the waterfront and the Marineland complex. It’s an old wooden house that is clean and well-maintained and has some charm. There’s a nice kitchen and a backyard area with a barbecue. An upstairs TV lounge has a couple of cosy window seats that look out over the sea and some rooms have sea views as well. Rooms are basic and clean and extra hooks and shelves are a nice touch. Internet and Wi-Fi access are available. The downstairs dining area is a bit on the institutional side, but overall this is a homely place with a helpful staff.

I only stayed here one night but it seemed pretty good in that time. The manager was very friendly and seemed to know what he was doing. Everything seemed clean and well maintained. Could do with a slightly larger TV lounge and possibly kitchen.

This was a comfortable hostel with a homey feel. Also, the staff were helpful and approachable. Close to restaurants, the beach and the town centre. Kitchen was clean and well organized, and the bathroom which was close by was cleaned daily. The exterior is Art Deco and when I was staying there, there were some renovations happening. My only complaint is the lack of transportation to/from the bus depot which isn't a big deal if you only have one backpack. However, it was near the end of my trip, and my baggage was multiplying.

Napier is an unique town with it's art deco theme, so staying in this 1920's house-type hostel was great. It was very comfy, clean with friendly staff. The house still has plenty art deco style fittings, my stay was like staying in someones house! Recommened
