BUG review
Stables Lodge is a friendly place with a loopy, hand-made charm and outgoing owner. Art and craft projects seem to be constantly underway, with guests and the owner working on wall murals of flags and planets, and doors to rooms painted to look like horse stables. There’s a courtyard with hammocks, a barbecue and lots of relaxed-looking people hanging out; also guests have use of a nice fully-equipped kitchen and free internet access on a single PC. Like many places in town, seasonal work can be arranged, and there’s generally a mix of longer-term guests and backpackers. Overall, there’s lots of character and social atmosphere here.

I had the best time here! I stayed in the summer and it was nice staying at a hostel with a courtyard and pcinic tables. There were also hammocks. It was just so relaxing there I stayed longer than intended. I never felt rushed, but actually felt like I was on holiday. The 10pm quiet time was good because it was enforced and everyone was pretty good about being quiet (although some people came home drunk and wer a little noisy, but that's to be expected. It is a hostel afterall!!!)
I lovethe smaller hostels, so this fit me perfectly. :-)

Just stayed here for one night but wish I could have stayed longer - Its a nice, clean, small homely place with a lovely courtyard and verandah. Rooms are small enough if you have a lot of gear, but they were no worse than some other places I stayed. Good location, within a couple of minutes walk of the beach and town centre. Would definitely recommend.

A small homely style hostel which was fine for reading a book but is not really for partying types. A decent kitchen (a bit cramped) but not enough showers or seperate toilets. Free use of Internet which was handy.

Clean facilities, hostel recycles kitchen scraps, rubbish. Double rooms do not come with linen and blankets, although they were nice enough to provide it when we asked. Small rooms that heat up in summer. kitchen and bathroom facilities can be accessed during the night with your room key, if you have a courtyard facing room the trip to use the toilet at night can be a hassle, (darkness & fumbling with keys) use of a torch is reccommended. Internet access consists of one computer on a portable trolley (pay in advance at reception) that gets wheeled away and locked up overnight. Hostel was quiet during the night. Reception hours 8:00am to 8:00pm. BBQ facilities available, however the 'organised summer BBQ's didn't happen while we were there. Hostel is opposite Marineland, which provides daily shows with dolphins and seals.
