BUG review
Adventure Lodge and Motel is a former ski lodge with a great split-level lounge and big fireplace. Rooms are well-maintained and comfortable, with fully made-up beds. Internet and Wi-Fi access are offered, and there’s a spa pool and drying room. There’s also a restaurant and bar on-site, as well as a covered outdoor barbecue area. They have their own package deal to Tongariro Alpine Crossing, including accommodation, breakfast and dinner. In all, the Adventure Lodge has a nicer atmosphere than most other hostels in town.

Adventure lodge not only has a great atmosphere but a licensed dining room, where they served the most enjoyable steak. It also has two spa pools, which was great as we didn't have to wait to have a dip after a days skiing. Adventure lodge has an internal drying room which is locked over night to ensure our ski gear was dry in the morning. I have stayed at adventure lodge many times over the last few years, being a keen skier myself I have tried other accommodation options and feel that adventure lodge has the best facilites in national park, I can not understand why BUG has rated that at 2.5 where it should be atleast 4. BUG also rated security as being poor, I was always given a key to my room, I feel that BUG gives a discredit to the proprietors of adventure lodge.
