BUG review
They’ve been at it for 17 years at the Pepper Tree Lodge but the house and accommodation has been very well taken care of. Rooms are simple, colourful and bright. A lounge area has comfortable couches, a TV, books and a log fire. The kitchen is very well laid out, with utensils easy to reach and easy to see – the kind of touch that makes this a very good hostel. There’s a small outdoor area with a smokers’ porch and a herb garden. The owners are very keen on recycling, so separate your rubbish. Plus, for you gear heads, they run a racing team out of their garage and there are some really cool cars about.
About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.

Price Dorm bed $26 ($23 BBH, HI/YHA) Double/twin room $60 ($54 BBH, HI/YHA) Prices are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of all taxes.
A great little hostel semi-central in town. We had a double, which was just off the TV room, which had a fine collection of books and magazines.. Huge kitchen for cooking at eating - bathrooms were nice too.Not a bad spot in Palmerston - suggest you try the Chinese food plac just around the corner - have the 'Super Crazy Happy Special' - great stuff.
