BUG review
This small 20-bed hostel in the centre of Picton is in a poky old house that shows its age. It feels very dated with furnishings that look like they've been there since the 1950s. Facilities are minimal and include a small lounge, a tiny kitchen and a small backyard with a barbecue. There are much better hostels in Picton and it seems that this hostels stays in business soley because of a handful of travellers who are loyal to the YHA brand.

Big back yard, to sit and talk or have a drink with new friends that you make, this is what backpacking is all about, wonderful having no tv, lockers in the room.Well placed as it is close to everything, supermarket, libary, pubs, cafes, ferry terminal. Staff are extreamly helpful and friendly, they dont treat you like a number and they can take a joke.
I had a great stay at Wedgwood House 11 January 2010
Pros:

My stay at Wedgwood House was very pleasant and welcoming. The rooms have their own toilet, shower and handbasin as well as lockable cabinets for storage. The cooking facilities and dining room were quite adequate. We enjoyed the large backyard to sit and relax and have a drink or two! Excellent proximity to the central shopping area and eateries! Very close to the Interisland Ferry Terminal as well.I would be happy to stay there again when we return to do some exploring in the Marlborough Sounds and the Queen Charlotte Walkway.

This is the "best little hostel" I ever stayed at. Clean, good facilities, close to train, bus and ferry stations. Bakery and Supermarket within 50 meters. Lovely host. Quiet at night and plenty of safe for your valuables. Highly reccomended.
