BUG review
Gingerbread House is a small hostel in an inconvenient location, 2.3km south of the city centre. It has two dorms that get pretty cluttered, and a large well-equipped kitchen. The bathrooms are lovely and clean. It has a small outdoor garden area with hammocks where you can pitch a tent. The atmosphere here is a bit dull, although some may find it peaceful. They offer laundry, internet access and free use of bicycles. The reception staff are very friendly.
About BUG's hostel reviews
This hostel was visited by one of BUG's team of hostel inspectors who write independent reviews and assess a star rating based on an objective assessment criteria.
We show up unannounced at hostels to write honest and unbiased hostel reviews. Many of BUG's reviews now feature videos and photo slideshows. BUG never receives payment for listing any establishment and BUG's researchers never accept free accommodation in exchange for favourable reviews.

A very unique host (Alan) and it's the best if you seek something unique as well. quite a cosy atmosphere! that's where you go, if you are a real backpacker! and it is not several kilometres out of the city centre. On what information did you guys from BUG gather that information? (just because it is not right next to the information centre???)

Great place to unwind and cruise. Beds are comfortable and all are made up, even the 4 bed dorms, no bunks here! It's about 10 minutes walk from town, and because of this it's lovely and quiet. The free bikes are a bonus. People are nice and friendly too.
