BUG review
This is a cute little hostel with nice fittings and a quiet atmosphere. The dorm rooms are nicely painted and well maintained, and the bathrooms are very clean. There is a common area with TV, log fire, books and guitars, and the kitchen is small but well equipped and tidy. They also have a laundry, internet access and a barbecue. Outside there are lemon and lime trees in the garden. The location is about a five-minute walk from the centre.

The Green Monkey was one of the best backpackers i stopped at - shame it was only for one night. Intercity took me to the hostal as it is 10 mins walk from the centre, they also picked me up the following morning from a hostal around the corner (2 mins walk) so dont let the location put you off. Its small with only a few rooms I had a double room and it was lovely, it had a TV and was so comfy. The people were very very friendly and helpful - they rung up intercity for me to sort out the bus for the following day and they kept the place so clean. Geared towards the quieter end of travellers no kiwi experience or magic travellers there which was lovely. Definately recommended place to stop in Nelson. Other travellers also spoke very highly of this place on my travels. Shop opposite incase you need milk or anything. 2 bathrooms are spotless...what more can i say....

A bit far from city center, but what a difference from other hostels. it's quite, small and warm. it feels like you live in Nelson not visitng. don't forget to check out the wonderful lookout above Nelson.
