BUG review
This hostel is a large alpine cottage with a good amount of charm. There are spacious dorms with made-up beds; a large, clean kitchen and a couple of cosy lounges with internet, flat screen TV and log fires. It is a great place to stay if you plan to visit the mountains and lakes, but it often caters to large groups, so call ahead. Management are very friendly.

Been there twice this year. Very good facilities and friendly hosts. They sell ice cream that still makes me hungry. It is a good place to start your tramp in the Nelson Lakes National Park. They have info, hut tickets and even equipment for hire.

You can also camp in the spaceous backyard with half the sandflies as on the DOC camping at the lake.
